Gold 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera manual cabriolet low miles For Sale.
1999 Porsche 911 Cabrio C2 17,000 ORIGINAL MILES. (NOT a TYPO). I’ve put less than 500 miles on her in the past eight years. WHY you ask?! I have over a hundred cars to sell and a hangry wife with a bunch of small kids! My fun days are now behind me and I need cash for diapers and toys! Open/ready to transfer/no liens rebuilt NY title. The car had a minor front hit to a post in a parking lot when it had under 300 miles on it, which explains the blem title. It will have a brand new expensive battery the day she leaves. I have owned more than a baker’s dozen of 911’s and this one drives beautifully. Clutch and 6 speed manual gearbox are smooth and effortless, much better than my later C4S. This is a 1999 996 model with the “double roller IMS bearing”, which has a less than 1% failure rate. (I don’t believe it was ever changed and have no record of such). The car is a solid ten footer. Paint and interior are original. Back seats were changed out OEM due to leather shrinkage. Back window was changed once I believe and there’s a 6″ patch in the top from a tear. I’ve pondered over the years doing a color change etc. but never did because she’s perfect the way she is as a survivor/driver. If someone else wants to bring her back to her original glory, by all means have at it. I like new cars, I also like old cars. The fading clear coat in spots adds character from her journey, and you don’t have to be afraid to drive/park at the grocery store or maintain her. Early-build Porsche 911 (996) cars are truly special, and this example highlights everything that makes them desirable. Powered by the 3.4L engine and paired with a 6-speed manual, this car delivers a raw, analog driving experience that later cars simply don’t replicate.
Notable early-build features include:
• Cable throttle
• Reliable dual-row IMS bearing
• Manual frunk and rear deck lid release cables
• 4-spoke steering wheel
• Amber turn signals front & rear
• Hand-built on the previous generation 993 assembly line in Stuttgart.
